Summer flower door swag has been replaced with an autumn-themed wreath, even though the weather has delivered a few too-warm days this past week. Mornings are foggy and cool with the faintest hint of woodsmoke in the air. This is, truly, one of my favorite times of the year.

I was gifted a couple of butternut squash, two large cabbages, and about a dozen sweet peppers, so I’ve been experimenting with fermentation for the cabbages and a few of the peppers, then pan roasting and freezing for the peppers and squash. I’m looking forward to having this for later-in-the-winter meals. I like to do a lot of crock pot soups in colder weather, so these will be perfect.
Writing is still flowing and I’m really enjoying the stories. I think you’re going to like them, too. The goal is to have all three out before the end of the year, but life has a way of throwing curve balls this year. I’ll say that the GOAL is to have them all out by the end of the year and I’ll just announce each one as it’s ready, so stay tuned to this newsletter.
